Bio warehouse...i am no where near to it!

So,it was a cool evening when i was running busy with me gre preparations ,just trying to make every possible minute useful(10 days off to go for the exam!) my lect.syed called me along with kaya3 and had a small meeting   and put-forth his idea of creating a neurotoxin database of venomous creatures and said that is will be the first of its kind. He also said it will be fine if you fellows work with me in your free time.It was like a buld glowing on my head..and i was sitting there in front of dreaming of publishing a paper on this to Nature(cheez! thats too much),adding that along with my papers for my ph.d application and they give me a scholarship..i was totally sinked in american dreams when my sir called out my name and asked are you there? i lied.i asked him some time to finish off with my gre exam after which i will start working on this project.i felt like i was the busiest person in the whole world.the day of gre exam came and i totally got screwed cos i forgot taking my passport (actually i had no idea that its mandatory for my entry) i was chucked out of the exam venue and tats another story.coming back to my dream of neurotoxin database,i started fresh looking for possible databases that occured before,i found many! that disappointed me(my hopes for publishing a paper lessened to publishing a review article!) as i went along few papers refered by syed sir,i found a lady who used a data warehouse called BIOWAREHOUSE which basically is comprised of all possible databases related to genes, proteins, functions etc.,and one can get access to it using mysql to retrive all possible information on any organism.it seemed to be a simple one(just seemed) and i took this to notice of syed sir. he was happy with it and got us the software from internet and we were given the task to install it...phew !  ..so am gonna install it, input "snakes+neurotoxin" and integrate all the datas and using it am gonna design my webpage (imagined of inserting a   modern art of snake like i put my bindhi with an eye liner in that page too!) and send it for publishing(once again my hopes raised heading towards Nature!) so one fine day read the pre-requisites for the installation and chose bio-linux platform to run it.At first it went smooth by just creating the databases and  granting privileges then came a strom called environment settings.the worst thing for a life-science student is installing a s/w in linux. In windows you just click next, next, yes and finish but its not the case with linux.it has to be installed from terminal and you need to know few commands & am totally new to  it. I knew very vell that my basic unix (93 marks in practicals!) will never work out with this customized bio-linux and i call it green-lin(thats the colour of it!) so mr.green-lin(lemme think of a much shorter name-gl?genlin?gre-lin? no that reminds me of my gre! gee-lee?thats ok) so my gee-lee started mastering over me and my worst command over linux.it simply avoided all the commands i gave...heart-broken i left the lab! next day syed sir showed up and asked have you installed and integrated datas?!!sigh! i told its too fast that you asked and it will need somemore time to install it.so i approached the help of computer - techies here in my lab.Ela sir,Mani sir ,Malan Sir and Jeyakodi mam. All came forward to help and guess what they are trying till date! it started july and now its early sep .. am still unable to install biowarehouse due to multiple installation troubles even after trying it out in redhat linux, installing bison, ant etc..out of all this i have learnt few basic commands in linux and started behaving like ostrich wheneven i see syed sir at the dept!
